| Jute plants |
Jute is most important fiber crop in our country. It is known as
golden fiber due to its great contribution on national GDP. It is under
Tiliaceae family. Scientific name of jute is Corchorus capsularis.
Jute is grown for fiber production in Kharif -I and for seed purpose it
is grown in robi season. Jute plants that is showed in the picture is
cultivating now(Kharif-I). Jute plants are now in the vegetative stage
at the picture.

Cotton is an
important fiber crop. The fiber is mostly used in textile industries.
Cotton is world's most important non-food agricultural commodity. It is
suitable for a wide range of clothing, household and industrial
products. Among the 4 cultivated species of cotton, Gossipyum arboreum is commercialy cultivated in our country. It is under malvaceae family. It is a crop which takes long time to harvest bolls.
Sowing time of cotton seed in the field ranges from middle of July to middle of August.
